May 3, 2010 – 6 PM in New York - The Alumni Association of the Victorian Society Summer Schools is hosting the Private Film Premiere of Restoration of Palacio Bosch, Buenos Aires at the Liederkranz Club, 6 East 87th Street, New York. Its producer and director, Fabio Grementieri, the Argentine scholar and architect, who was responsible for the Palacio Bosch’s restoration, will introduce the film.  Palacio Bosch is now the American Ambassador’s Residence. A reception will follow.

May 15, 2010 - Alumnus Joe Svehlak will lead a tour of Brooklyn Heights from 10AM to approximately 12:30 PM. Starting in Brooklyn’s Civic Center, the tour will sample some of the glory of old Brooklyn, where more than one-half of its 1,100 landmarked buildings predate 1860.
Fee:  $25 per person donation to the Alumni Association of the Victorian Society Scholarship Fund.

Bay Area Alumni of the Victorian Society in America Summer Schools are urged to bring potential candidates for the Victorian Society Summer Schools to the reception.

 The evening will include: 

  • A chance to see Richard Reutlinger’s historic Burne/Reutlinger Mansion that was featured in Antiques Magazine in August 2005
  • A presentation highlighting sites featured on past Summer School itineraries;
  • Information on admission and scholarships to the Summer School Programs;
  • Light refreshments

Graduate students, curators, historic house administrators, architects, interior designers, and anyone with an interest in the arts and culture of the Victorian era are invited to apply to the Summer School Programs.
